Electrolyte

Electrolytes is a feed supplement that is given to horses who are undergoing hard training or when it is hot outside and the horse sweats more than usual. The sweat contains a lot of water and salts which the horse is in need of in order to work optimally. Dehydration and lack of liquid can cause consecuenses such as colic and muscle related problems and therefore it is paramount to compensate for the losses. Electrolytes containes salts which makes the horse thirsty in order for it to drink more water. Supplements with electrolytes helps to normalize the horse´s liquid balance which helps it to recover quicker. 

Electrolytes helps the horse with quicker recovering after repeated effort and is most common used for hard working horses when the salts is not enough.
