Portland is an anatomically shaped long girth made of soft leather, with a wider, more stable middle section that distributes pressure across the horse’s chest. The flat part near the horse’s elbows allows free movement.

A large hook in the middle makes it easy to attach a martingale or breastplate, and for extra security, the hook can be covered with the girth’s large leather flap. Side D-rings provide additional options for attaching guidance reins or other equipment. The girth features elastic at both ends and sturdy roller buckles with soft padding.
