Pressure-relieving saddle pad from Finesse, developed to reduce pressure on the horse’s back and distribute pressure more evenly beneath the saddle.
The Finesse Pressure Relief Saddle Pad is designed to create an adaptive, pressure-distributing layer between the horse’s back and the saddle. Its three-dimensional fibre material compresses under load, helping to spread pressure points over a larger area. According to Finesse, the pad can reduce the impact of the rider’s weight on the horse’s back by up to 20%.
Suitable for both jumping and dressage, this all-purpose saddle pad is particularly useful for young horses, horses with sensitive backs or less developed back muscles, as well as horses whose shape changes considerably during training. It provides additional pressure distribution without bulky padding and can also be a useful option when the same saddle is used on several horses.
A clear channel along the spine and withers keeps these sensitive areas free from pressure. The breathable material allows air to circulate and helps reduce heat beneath the saddle, while silicone grip helps keep the pad securely in place.
Finesse has tested the pad on several different types of horses and reports reduced signs of muscular overload, as well as positive changes in balance and movement under saddle.
