Across the back and upper neck area, the rug features a durable and waterproof 1200D outer material that protects the horse during sudden rain showers. The combination of fly protection and rain coverage makes this rug particularly practical during the summer months when the weather can quickly shift between sunshine and rain. The rug is also equipped with a smooth and breathable nylon lining at the withers, shoulders and tail area to help reduce the risk of rubbing.

The detachable neck cover makes the rug flexible and easy to adapt depending on weather and needs. During periods of high insect activity or rain, the neck can easily be attached to provide additional protection over the neck and mane, while the rug can just as easily be used without the neck cover on drier days. The fly rug offers a secure fit with a double chest fastening and hook and loop closure, as well as a tail flap. The rug from Eskadron is finished with a glossy binding and discreet Eskadron logos at the neck and belly.
