Trikem Gastro is a feed supplement developed to support and protect the horse's sensitive stomach lining.
Trikem Gastro is specially developed for horses that have undergone veterinary treatment for gastric ulcers or are suspected of having them. It is also suitable for horses with a history of gastric ulcers during stressful periods, such as changes of environment or travelling, and when receiving medication that affects the stomach and intestines.
Gastro contains a high concentration of lecithin, a naturally occurring substance found in the horse's body. Together with polysaccharides, lecithin forms a protective barrier in the stomach, helping to shield the gastric lining from stomach acid. A high proportion of lecithin is important for achieving the intended effect, making Gastro a useful supplement for horses with sensitive stomachs.
The supplement also contains maerl, a natural red algae that helps stabilise the pH level in the stomach. Maerl provides both immediate and lasting support for a balanced gastric environment, helping to reduce the risk of irritation.
Added prebiotics nourish beneficial gut bacteria, contribute to balanced intestinal flora and support normal digestion.
Gastro acts as a soothing balm for the sensitive stomach and can be given as a daily supplement or during periods of increased stress, such as travelling, competitions or changes in feed. The product is based on scientific studies, has no competition withdrawal period and is suitable for daily use.

15 ml (10g) per 100kg body weight per day.
A double dose is recommended for the first 10 days, followed by the standard recommended dose. Mix dry into the feed immediately before feeding. Do not soak.
